The Brooksider is one of the greatest places in Kansas City for rahawkin and rawholin' (out of the gutter please). If you have never been to The Brooksider, go. If you have been but have never seen Perpetual Change there...well...you haven't lived (might be a stretch). Come down for a high five and show your palm or in Italian it would be Depalma to any Italian whoah wantsa tue a hiva fiva yue. Wow that was not only not funny but an inside joke that wasn't really that funny...because it wasn't that inside either. But we love the owner of The Brooksider and anytime I can work him into a bit I am in. On August 5th, Perpetual Change will be at Power & Light on the main stage to rock the night away with anyone bold enough to come down, divy up the $2 for parking, and cinch up your baggie pants so your crack doesn't show when you bend over. But cracks might be cool on the planet Butcrackia but they really aren't that cool at P&L. They are really crackin (worked it into back to back sentences) down on clothing infractions so make sure to keep your hats at home, your shorts at a reasonable length, and don't wear anything that could be construed as cool. There are a few tiny places on the wall that don't have TVs but every other inch of the bar is covered in them, the bar has been redone, the stage has been moved, the walls knocked out, and the kitchen walled off so we can't see our good friends serving up the killer food The Brooksider serves. Just like there is more than one way to cut the cheese, there is more than one way to design an incredible bar. The Brooksider's new focus is on low-dose RF poisoning from televisions as there are more TVs in there than angry women at a Rosie O'Donnell charity testicle stomping contest. Instead of wrecking Thanksgiving this year by playing the night before it and then having to listen to people ask me why I ruined their Thanksgiving (since they used bar vomit the next day for turkey stuffing), we decided to play the Saturday after Thanksgiving to give you enough time to plan your meal, eat it, enjoy it, clean it up, burp for memories, do the whole food coma thing, and poop it out long before Saturday. Then we can't be blamed for messing up any part of the meal or the experience...unless you save it in a bag like Borat did and bring it to the show, light it on fire, and make someone fall for the flaming poop bag prank...so predictable. Do I take the lime with me teeth, do I put it in my mouth with my hand, do I grab it off someone else's body (this one can be tricky), when do I lick the salt, where do I lick the salt from, what do I do with the lime after the tequila is down and the lime juice has worked...I mean there are so many things you will learn at Coach's...from Coach's. How much does she need to drink to make you look good?...we will cover this in great detail but to give a little hint as to the things you will learn... this depends on if you took a shower, did you wear a clean shirt, do you have a booger sticking out of you nose, can she see a 6 inch ear hair, have you ever washed those disgusting open toed shoes you don't wear socks with, do you know what the word halitosis means, and so much more... In addition to the fabulous schooling, a reference card you can flip through to understand the correct pickup line given the number of drinks your target gender has had will be passed out at the door as you enter. For example, "How do you like your eggs?" will most certainly be met with "Unfertilized" if she has only had one drink...but using the reference card, you know your chances will be greater of the answer being much more favorable after 10 drinks. "You must be a parking ticket because you have FINE written all over you." won't even get a reply after 1 drink, will get a chuckle after 3 drinks, will get a "kiss off" after 5 drinks, but will actually be the beginning of a meaningful relationship at 8 drinks or more. How could you know all this?
